Pattern Play

I was drawn to this Tibi dress for its eclectic pattern. It reminds me half of an Easter basket and half of Mondrian’s “Boogie Woogie” painting. I think you can get away with a loud print on a shift or tank dress because the shape and cut is so simple. It flows away from your body without drawing attention to curves or clinging anywhere, which allows the eye to focus on the print. The colors are so summery and light, and it can be worn with sandals or dressed up with a wedge like I did here. I added a ladylike purse for some extra pastel overkill.
