This convertible dress is by far the most unique in my summer wardrobe.
This time of year (and especially for warm weather vacations) I look for lightweight pieces that breathe easily and incorporate a splash of color. Travel-wise, this one’s a dream: it folds into practically nothing, doesn’t wrinkle, and can be worn a hundred different ways. Despite all these factors, my favorite part about it is how unique and regal the print is, sort of bohemian-goddess. Have you ever seen something like it?
I paired it with a cognac Sancia crossbody bag (which is currently half off – I have it with me right now in Barcelona and wear it daily). The fringe adds a little something extra and I love that unlike most crossbody bags, it has a handle to hold onto if you want to tuck the long strap inside. It comes in black, and I also love the simple version sans fringe. The cognac color will carry me straight into fall paired with neutrals.
As much as I love wearing the dress down fully to watch it float behind me while walking, it can be worn as a top if you twist and tuck the front overlay piece into a pair of shorts. I see myself wearing it at the beach with shorts and then moving to a full dress come dinnertime; avoiding having to bring a second outfit change. Since there’s a short slip underneath the front overlay, you can also tie up the front piece around the waist and wear it as a short dress, making the front piece a belt. I typically wouldn’t alter a dress, but it’s so easy to get creative with this one. How would you wear it?
