In between shows at NYFW, I wore some form of this look almost daily – a printed short and top with walkable booties and a lightweight statement jacket to throw on for meetings. It worked well in the humid city weather and I still stood out in a crowd of dark colors (these photos don’t do the jacket justice.. that pink is PINK!) I ran into my photographer friend Ryan at breakfast on my way to a showroom and we hopped outside to take a few photos. That’s the beauty of Manhattan – you don’t have to walk far to find a great city backdrop.

I’m home in LA now (with a post-fashion week cold) but will fly back to New York City this weekend for an event with one of my favorite brands, Bailey44! It’ll be a quick trip, but I can’t wait to be back – keep up with my snapshots through Instagram (@sophieelkus).
