Greetings from sunny Los Angeles! My week in New York came and went in the blink of an eye. I have hundreds of photos and memories to share, but first wanted to update you all with a quick post of my favorite looks from a handful of the Fall ’13 shows.
Something I look forward to most about Fashion Week is witnessing the incredible street style. The top percentage of most well-dressed women from around the world flood the city (and men – I’m looking at you, Brad Goreski and Joe Zee). Each Soho sidewalk or Upper East Side storefront is a runway for eclectic style, wildly mixed prints and over-the-top glamour, and you never know what to expect next.
That’s why it was no surprise that when the Nemo blizzard hit New York, the fashion world was nearly unfazed. Snow piled the street curbs and frigid winds shook window sills at designer presentations, but the women still showed up, chipper and dressed to the nines. I wore the above look on my last day of shows and admittedly froze my butt off – as well as nearly broke an ankle in those shoes (icy ground is not a friendly thing). But, with the best of fashion friends at my side I took it all in stride and enjoyed the experience. I was snapped by GQ, Spiegel Online and Shooting the Style wearing this look.
I’ll be posting my second installment of NYFW photos tomorrow, so check back soon! And if you haven’t yet entered my Matthew Williamson giveaway, you still can here until February 14th.
