These are just a few of my favorite memories of 2012. Since this blog’s beginnings earlier this year, I have so much enjoyed the adventure it has taken me on – the fascinating people and new friends I’ve met, the travels I’ve been fortunate enough to experience and the awesome brands that I’ve been able to work with.

Starting this website was both exciting and nerve-wracking. I wanted to share my passion for color, design and style, but would anyone want to read it? Watching the page counter go from just one view (me) to thousands was unreal to me. Hearing feedback from both readers and friends has made this process 100% worthwhile. I remember after a few weeks receiving emails from girls in Italy and Australia – I could not believe that in this vast black hole of internet they had stumbled upon my little experiment! Realizing that my love for style and writing had reached a stranger so far away made me feel like my voice was heard, and I still think that’s just so cool. It may be as trivial as a pair of shoes, but I love to connect with others and forge a bond over something we’re both passionate about. And no matter what you love to do, that’s what it’s all about right?

So as the year comes to a close, I want to thank you for reading- whether it’s two posts, three, or if you’ve bookmarked this site on your computer. I hope this blog can provide a lighthearted and fun place to look at beautiful design, fun style and inspiring things.

In the spirit of communicating with others and sharing the love, I think about what resolutions I have for 2013. I have many – things I hope to accomplish, places I dream about seeing and people that I would love to meet. Despite my list, what resonates with me most is not an experience checked off of my bucket list or a goal I hope to achieve, through blogging or otherwise. It’s something more simple that I think about everyday and that I hope to share with all of you – and that is to be kind. While there are so many reasons to celebrate the highs of 2012, it is hard to escape the lows, often splashed across the news and striking our hearts. I hope to make a difference in doing my part to embrace both friends and strangers and enjoy each moment together. Kindness doesn’t require money, travel, luck, good fortune or new shoes- only an open heart. In 2013, I will think more than ever before about the simple ways that I can touch someone’s life through the words I say and actions I offer, and I hope you will join me. Have a most wonderful 2013.
